New Programs at CQUniversity

CQUniversity is one of the most engaged, supportive and responsive universities in Australia and at present is in an exciting phase of growth and renewal. We're focused on making higher education accessible and relevant to all people and it is with this in mind we are expanding into new discipline areas at a rapid pace.

Accident Forensics: This new and unique program area will equip you with the skills to conduct and analyse accident investigations based on knowledge and techniques appropriate to accident forensics in road, rail, air and industrial environments.

Allied Health: Our Bachelor of Health Science (Allied Health) provides a foundation learning opportunity leading to graduates with skills, knowledge and experience necessary to fill emerging health workforce roles. Allied Health also offers a pathway into exciting roles such as a speech pathologist, podiatrist, occupational therapist or physiotherapist.

Arts: Our Bachelor of Arts degree currently offers specialisations in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies, geography and environmental studies, history, literary and cultural studies, psychology, sociology, welfare studies, and writing.  By 2013, the range of specialisations will be enhanced, which will allow you to gain specialist skills in one of the many humanities and social science majors on offer.  To register your interest in an area of study or propose a new specialisation click here.

Associate Degree in Aviation Technology: CQUniversity's new Associate Degree in Aviation Technology provides an alternative to the Bachelor of Aviation Technology. As well as completing 20 hours of practical flight training throughout the program, upon successful completion of this degree, you will be eligible to apply for a recreational pilot's license.

Chiropractic Science: We are proud to announce Queensland’s first suite of chiropractic programs, available to study on-campus at CQUniversity Mackay. Incorporating work-integrated-learning each term and optional overseas study tours, you will benefit from Australia’s newest chiropractic learning environment, developed by industry leaders.

Education:  Our Bachelor of Learning Management (Secondary and Vocational Education and Training) is now available by distance education.  This program is a unique and innovative approach to teacher education and aims to graduate ‘learning managers’ who have a significantly different perspective, knowledge-base and skill-set than graduates of teacher education in the past.

Graduate Certificate in Creative Industries (Specialisation): This new program provides opportunities for those working in or seeking to enter the Creative Industries. Graduates can seek roles in fine arts, musuems and galleries, music, publishing, theatre, web design and writing.

Laws and Accounting: This new double degree provides you with dual qualifications and skills which are well regarded in both the private and public sectors.  Our program will equip you with the technical skills you need for a successful career in accounting, law and business. 

Health Professional Education: The Master of Health Professional Education (MHPE) provides a multidisciplinary program of study to health care professionals involved in teaching and learning in a variety of health service delivery settings including the public and private sectors in nursing and allied health.

Medical Sonography: CQUniversity’s Bachelor of Medical Sonography and Graduate Diploma of Medical Sonography is a four-year linked degree / post-graduate diploma program. The combined program is the first of its kind in Australia, providing students the opportunity to enter the profession with no prior degree in a health sciences area. 

Information Technology (Application Development, Network Security, Business Analysis): With a new selection of specialisations, and the most up to date content and courses, there's never been a better time to complete an Information Technology Program at CQUniversity.

Oral Health: An oral health therapist is a registered health professional who performs preventive and operative dentistry on patients of all ages - find out more about this high growth field.

Project and Program Management: Project Management is a rapidly growing profession that is highly valued by employers regardless of their industry sector or location - build your skills and career prospects with our new suite of programs.

Science Specialisations (Ecology & Conservation Biology, Analytical & Molecular Science, Agricultural & Food Science): The Bachelor of Science (Specialisation) will provide you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for a career in the biological, analytical and agricultural sciences.

Theatre (Technical Theatre): Our new Technical Theatre specialisation within our Bachelor of Theatre is designed to develop your skills in stagecraft, stage and production management, lighting, sound, and technical direction. This is the ideal program for you if you are keen to work in the creative and performing arts industry in a production capacity.

Tourism: CQUniversity's tourism programs are designed to offer you the body of knowledge and the skills set to enter the expanding international tourism industry. Our industry-leading academics will develop your expertise in areas such as events, special interest tourism, nature-based tourism and resort and hotel management.
