Vision, Mission, Values and Goals

Nulloo Yumbah exists to serve those ATSI custodians of the land who have enrolled in CQUniversity. We encourage faculty, school and division to walk with the rich diversity of ATSI lived experience and assist in the provision of programs that will equip the students to be responsible custodians of their place and kin.

Nulloo Yumbah will be nationally and internationally recognised for its innovative and creative approaches to Indigenous academic vitality, as expressed through its teaching, learning and spirituality modules, courses, programs, activities and the quality personalised services offered to CQUniversity students.

Our mission is to ensure a high level of access across all central Queensland campuses of CQUniversity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and to equip students to participate fully in the life of the university. We assist in the equipping of the custodians of the land with the necessary skills and insights to act responsibly towards and with due respect of creaturely existence. In collaboration with Faculty and Divisions we provide quality personalised services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students leading towards full participation in the life of the university and recognized success. Through innovative and creative ways, we promote the academic vitality of ATSI students and staff of CQUniversity to the wider national and international communities. Nulloo Yumbah will add value to the learning experiences of the students by designing and delivering a range of modules, courses and programs to increase knowledge and appreciation of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander issues.

We're open, that is, we are positive, friendly, communicative and responsive. A can-do attitude also exists throughout CQUniversity, meaning that our students and other customers find us bold and straightforward, confident, inspiring and unpretentious. Independent research conducted by the University also reveals, not surprisingly, the focus we place on our students and other customers.

So, in every sense, CQUniversity is all about you. CQUniversity is also described as adaptive, for our accessibility and flexibility, commitment to continuous learning and our community engagement. CQUniversity interacts in a customised way to an individual's requirements. Not all universities can say that and few can say it with confidence. We can

Nulloo Yumbah will:

• ensure prospective ATSI students are given every opportunity to gain access to pre-undergraduate, undergraduate and Postgraduate courses and programs;
• enable pre-undergraduate, undergraduate and postgraduate ATSI students to participate fully in the life of the university;
• provide quality personalised services to students in formal and informal activities, modules, courses and programs;
• explore and promote the possibilities of responsible custodianship;
• promote Indigenous academic vitality amongst staff and students;
• establish and maintain appropriately focussed engagements with relevant communities and organisations in the promotion of CQUniversity and the services the university can provide to address community and organisational interests; and
• be the pre-eminent CQUniversity resource on Indigenous learning, spirituality and research.
