Materials Engineering

The Industrial Materials Science laboratory is focussed on understanding the mechanisms of degradation of materials of construction of process plant equipment. It helps provide an understanding of the failure mechanisms of industrial materials and can help in the selection of materials of construction.

The Industrial Processes Lab at the PELM Centre, CQU-Gladstone carries out Research and Consultancy work and provides technical expertise in the area of Process Engineering with the emphasis on fluid flow related problems.

In asset management, the objective is to maximise service and minimise the cost and risk factors of operational assets.

The PELM centre also acts as a base for other research carried by the staff in the university, for projects in biofuels, electrical machines and communications.
