Over the period of 30 years he had a high profile performing career spanning the concert platform to major International Festivals. He has performed before the royal families of Britain, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark, in the Royal Spa in Bath, the roman amphitheatres in Aix and Verona, and the Baths of Caracalla in Rome, and an open pit mine in Mount Newman in Western Australia These highlights were sprinkled through a performing agenda that covered North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. He survived a bomb blast during a performance in the Opera House in Belfast, and another performance in Aberdeen when he was locked out of the theatre wearing a toga, and during a heavy snow storm. Garrick Jones has a Master's Degree through the University of Wollongong and is currently enrolled in a PhD program at Macquarie University. He publishes regularly and is an invited adjudicator to many National Australian singing competitions.

Reviews
Kevin Jones - Weekend Australian, Nov 2001
"The highlights of the recent national jazz series, The Pulse, shown on ABC TV, were the world class
performances of three Melbourne musicians...(one of which was) guitarist James Sherlock. Warm and
relaxed, Sherlock may favour the so called traditional guitar sound, but his fertile melodic and harmonic
imagination make him a guitarist to be reckoned with.......(Southwall) is exhilarating and exciting jazz"
Martin Leslie - Libretto, April 2001
"The James Sherlock Trio swings and how! What a gift he has! A depth of talent far beyond his years. To
hear him perform is to experience everything that is sweet and good about guitar music"
Peter Jordan - Rolling Stone Magazine, July 99
"Sherlock's highly developed rhythmic & melodic sense gives the material bite & lifts it out of the predictable"

Gustavo arrived in Brisbane in the summer of 2005 from Sydney, where, for the past twenty five years, he has dedicated his life to pursuing and perfecting all genres of Latin music in particular Afro Cuban music, having traveled to the rhythmic & colourful Island of Cuba several times to advance his studies and passion.
