Employ a Co-op Student

The University Careers and Employment Service is seeking Expressions of Interest from industry organisations to provide paid employment opportunities for information technology students from the Bachelor of Information Technology (Co-op) program.
Details of the program are included in the Employer Information document as well as on this website.

Employment Process
Should your company decide to employ a Co-op student the following process applies:

  • A position description is developed either by the employer or prepared by the Careers and Employment Service based on information provided by the employer. Employers click here for a generic position description template.
  • Students apply for jobs submitting a cover letter, résumé and key selection criteria.
  • Employers shortlist applicants based on company recruitment procedures.
  • The Careers and Employment Service organises interview schedules that are convenient for both employers and students.
  • Successful students are allocated to placements by Careers and Employment Service staff on the basis of a 'preference system' from both employer and student.
