Melbourne Campus End of Term Party

Published on 10 February 2011

A fun afternoon was had by all who attended the term 3 End of Term Party on 31st January at Melbourne Campus.

Although exams were looming, students and staff took some time out to relax and celebrate the end of term. A table tennis competition, lucky door prizes and a special performance of traditional Afghan music were all part of the afternoon's events.

The table tennis competition was a close fought battle, coming down to a final match between Farman Khan and Pavon Reddy. Farman overcame his opponent to win by a point and pick up a great prize. Farman also wowed the crowd earlier in the afternoon with his great performance of songs on his Afghan rubab.

A big thank you to Charles, Gloria, Purn, Farman and Usman as well as all the staff who volunteered their time and efforts to help organise the party. It is planned that the party will continue to be held every term.

ACS Progessional Year Program - First Batch of Students from Melbourne Campus

Published 07 June 2010

The first cohort of Australian Computer Society Professional Year Program (ACS PYP) students who have successfully completed the program from Melbourne campus were awarded their graduation certificates last week by Darryl Stewart, State Director Victoria at a ceremony organised by ACS.

It was amazing to witness the professionalism, growth and self confidence that the students have acquired by studying the program over the last 12 months. Students valued the program highly and attributed their professional development to the study of the Australian Work Culture, Professional Business Communication, and Professionalism in ICT modules and in particular to the 12 weeks Internship in a professional organisation.

Prior to their main graduation ceremony, a get together cum luncheon was arranged on the campus to provide the graduating class with an opportunity to celebrate the momentous occasion with campus staff.

Mandeep Singh (student representative) gave a very heartfelt speech both at the ACS function and on the campus, praising ACS for designing and running such an effective program. He shared his peers' optimism to carry forward the acquired knowledge and experience to their future work places. He, also, thanked the campus and the teachers in contributing to their success.

Darryl thanked the students for choosing CQUni and asked them to refer the program and university further to their friends.
