Assessment Item Presentation Checklist

This checklist is for your self-evaluation before you submit an assessment item. Please check your course profile because the details required may be slightly different. It is important for you to critically appraise your own work and also to proofread carefully.

Proofread for the following language features

 
colloquial termsslang words or informal expressions Check box

Is a reference list included? Check that it is written in the correct format. Check box
Have you referenced in-text? Check box
Does your in-text referencing correspond to your reference list? (Is every reference cited in your reference list able to be located in your text?) Check box
Do you have an adequate introduction and conclusion? Check box
Does your essay 'flow' in a structured manner? Check box
Is there linking between paragraphs? Check box
Are your paragraphs well-structured and does each contain one main idea? Check box
Are your paragraphs too long/too short? Check box
Does everything in your essay support, develop or contribute to the thesis in your introduction? Check box
Is every part of the question addressed with every key word mentioned? Check box
Is your point of view consistent and without contradiction throughout the essay? Check box
Is your writing based on fact or is it subjective? Check box
