Abstract

This seminar gives an overview of findings to date from two studies led by the Biomedical Multimedia Unit at The University of Melbourne over the past 18 months (to August 2007):

  • Digital Natives: First year students' experiences with information and communications technologies and preferences about their use in higher education at The University of Melbourne
  • Educating the Net Generation: Implications for Learning and Teaching in Australian Universities. (The University of Melbourne in collaboration with Charles Sturt University and the University of Wollongong, and supported by the Carrick Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education)

The seminar further explores the question of how we may most usefully apply these findings to improve curriculum, teaching practices and student learning support.
