Professor Kerri-Lee Krause Director, Griffith Institute for Higher Education (Griffith University QLD)
On being strategic about the first year (pdf)
This interactive seminar will examine a range of ways in which staff from across the university can work together to enhance the quality of the first year experience. It will take into account what the research tells us about the changing nature of first year students and will consider implications for policy and practice at CQU.
As part of the seminar, we will discuss the new Australian Survey of Student Engagement. There will be opportunity for questions and discussion of some of the challenges we all face as we seek to enhance student engagement.
Professor Krause is Chair in Higher Education and Director of the Griffith Institute for Higher Education. Her research expertise spans across higher education policy areas, with a particular focus on the quality of the student experience in higher education and implications for learning, teaching and policy.
