The Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education (GCTE) is offered to those who want a career as a university or tertiary education teacher. It is an award program that provides new or aspiring university or tertiary education teachers with the knowledge and skills to teach effectively within the tertiary education environment.

A total of four courses must be successfully completed in order to be awarded the GCTE. This will comprise of two core courses offered by CQUniversity Australia (completion of both is mandatory for CQUniversity students) plus two electives from the below list of courses offered by the partner universities.
